The WanderWomxn collective is founded by Janna Zinzi and Meena Hussain.

Meena and Janna met as facilitators at a nonprofit communications conference back in 2016. We immediately bonded over our mutual love for travel, and the challenges we face as women of color travelers.

Most travel guides are written by and for heteronormative white folks. As a collective of BIPOC femmes and women of color, these guides leave out a breadth of our experiences.

Wanderwomxn instead seeks to create a space that provides travel and safety information for womxn of color because the way we experience the world is naturally different.

Through the stories we share, we want to show you the diversity of travel experiences you can have around the world. We want to show that travel isn’t always glamorous but it still is magical! Our goal is to lift up local stories and businesses from the communities we visit in hopes that you will learn about foreign lands or the people on your block. We are for the curious traveler, the womxn who see the world as a place to wander yet honor.
